Ten (belated) resolutions for 2008

Posted 28/01/2008 by Christoph von Teichman

Here are 10 resolutions I have made for the year ahead.

  1. I will make at least one associate happy every day by praising his or her work.
  2. I will update my 'To do' list first thing every morning and start work with the item that promises the least fun, not the one promising the most.
  3. I will not respond to annoying e-mail messages before one hour has elapsed.
  4. I will send out my Christmas cards at least one week before Christmas.
  5. When imbecilic 'error' messages pop up on my computer screen, automatic spelling corrections devised by idiots are imposed on me or a document format refuses to accept what I want it to do, I will not curse a certain software provider but will compile a list of all the bugs in that software and mail it to the guy who's made billions with it.
  6. I will not display my impatience when people who want to go up with the lift push the "down" button because the lift is on one of the floors above.
  7. I will not look at my BlackBerry during meals.
  8. I will not eat airline food on flights of four hours or less.
  9. I will read a poem every day.
  10. I will contribute my next Legal Village blog before the editor has to prompt me.
