The more the merrier at in-house e-gathering

Nearly 300 corporate counsel have signed up to listen in on tomorrow’s Legal Week Corporate Counsel e-symposium. ‘E-symposium’ is a posh word for online conference. The delegates will listen in remotely via their computers, although there will be an interactive element to proceedings in the shape of a facility to email in questions to the panels.

The event is free to attend for corporate counsel and it is not too late to register, which you can do by clicking here. One of the benefits of an online event is that there is no limit to capacity, so the more delegates the merrier.

Another advantage is that you can draw in speakers from across the world. Both keynotes – General Electric general counsel Brackett Denniston and Citrix Systems European legal head Peter Connor – will be delivering their speeches from outside the UK. But, given that in-house lawyers love to network, there will also be a party in the evening for those delegates and speakers who are based within striking distance of Central London.

In his presentation, Brackett will be building on the speech he delivered to the Legal Week Corporate Counsel Forum in Paris earlier this year by exploring the building blocks for a ‘first class in-house legal team’. There will also be a serious of panel discussions throughout the day on a range of subjects, including managing litigation, privilege, climate change and that old – or should that be 'experienced' – chestnut, age discrimination. The speakers themselves come from a range of leading companies, including Nestle, Shell, Goldman Sachs and TimeWarner.
